Dennis Rodman Is Back In North Korea Days After An American Missionary's Release Appeal Was Turned Down!
September 03, 2013FredFormer NBA star and flamboyant celebrity, Dennis Rodman, is back in North Korea days after a U.S. envoy hoping to secure the release of an American missionary, Kenneth Bae, was turned down
Rodman was greeted at the Pyongyang airport by Son Kwang Ho, vice-chairman of North Korea's Olympic Committee. He stated that he's only in North Korea to hang out with his friend, Kim Jong Un, and talk basketball--not for diplomatic reasons. Via The New York Times:
“I’ve come out here to see my friend,” he said in an allusion to the dictator. “I want to talk about basketball.”Rodman has been criticized in the past for befriending North Korea's leader because of the strained relationship between North Korea and the U.S.
I personally don't see a problem with the friendship and think if Rodman doesn't want to get involved with any of the diplomatic stuff he shouldn't have to.
Do you think Rodman should use his friendship with Kim Jong Un to secure the release of the missionary?
