2014 Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance: Watch Bruno Mars Takes The Stage With the Red Hot Chili Peppers HERE

The Super Bowl halftime show is a respite on the biggest night in American sports, a chance for sports fans to take a break and for others, its the biggest moment of the night to see their favorite artist perform.

With trying to top Beyonce & Destiny's Child performance at the Pepsi Halftime show, Bruno Mars took the stage on Sunday night with the Red Hot Chili Peppers to give an energetic performance at the MetLife stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Mars opened the show with a drum kit before he ripped into "Locked Out of Heaven," a hit single from his "Unorthodox Jukebox." Mars also performed "Treasure," "Runaway Baby" and a little bit of the Isley Brothers song "Shout."

Via Huff Post, he was joined by the Chili Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis to perform "Give It Away," a seminal hit from the Los Angeles rock band. Mars closed his set with the ballad "Just The Way You Are."

Too bad, folks are still stuck on Beyonce's 2013 "light out" show at the Superdome in New Orleans and went as far as to drag the 28-year-old singer on Twitter and Tumblr.

Anyhow, we're not trying to get into all those Hatersville comments.

Bruno also dedicated his Superbowl XLVII half-time performance to his Filipina mom who recently passed away and received tons of negative feedback.
