32-year-old Beyonce and her hubby Jay Z made a stop at the historic Anne Frank Safe-House Museum in Amsterdam Wednesday, for a mini history lesson, where the songstress was photographed writing in Frank's visitors book.

Engaging in history...what can I say, reading is 'very' fundamental!

The museum is actually the house in which Anne Frank and her family were discovered by the Nazi in 1944, after hiding successfully for two years. Anne however died in early March, 1945, after contracting typhoid in Belsen camp.

Executive director of Anne Frank Trust UK, Gillian Walnes, said the Beyonce and Jay Z's visit 'sends a very positive message to young fans. It invites their curiosity about knowing more – reading Anne’s diary, or even visiting the Anne Frank House'.

According to the museum’s Facebook page, the couple spent “more than an hour inside and very impressed by their visit to the hiding place of Anne Frank.”

Later in the night, Beyonce hit the stage at the Ziggo Dome in Holland, Amsterdam (video above) to continue her Mrs. Carter World Tour. Jay was also spotted backstage with his nephew:

Also, Beyonce isn't the first pop star to visit the museum, last year Justin Bieber caused such a media furore after visiting the museum, which resulted in thousands of young people wanting to know more about Anne Frank and her story.'

Bieber wrote about his experience via Twitter: 'Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.'

FYI: Beyonce's stylist reveals that she uses baby oil to get a natural glowing skin.
